The Influence of Iran's Historical Culture on the Theology and Structure of Iran's modern religious thoughts

This blog has been created to aid in a research activity that aims to explore the influence of Iran's history (as a host to great religions such as Zoroastrianism, and a host of great cultures and dynasties) on the creation and evolution of the theology and structure of Iran's Modern religious thoughts.

This will essentially remain a non-sectarian and non-ethnic page, with a focus on generating and sharing knowledge on the subject. As this blog grows, we expect the contributors to remain committed to impersonal, non-prejudiced and scholarly dialogue. All posts are expected to make no derogatory remarks about anybody. We will try to give the least of opinion and the most of knowledge. Readers should be left to make opinions. If you do not agree with any contents of this blog or would like it to be reworded, we will certainly put it for a healthy debate; just leave a comment.

The research builds upon the following:

1. The theology and structure of religions of Iran's (Persia's) majority before the dawn of Islam.
2. The events that lead to the commissioning of Shiism as a sect of Islam.
3. The present and historic data about the evolutionary structure of Schiism in Iran as represented by the theological learning centers such as many concentrated in Qom. Scholarly comparisons with shrines in other locations is to follow.
4. The present and historic data on the establishment, evolution of and practices at different shrines in Iran. Scholarly comparisons with shrines in other locations is to follow.
5. Theological texts of Irans historic religions.
6. Shiism's theological texts.
7. Scholarly works published on Iran and Schiism, such as the doctoral thesis of (Allama, Dr.) Muhammad Iqbal, the great Persian and Urdu poet of the sub-continent.
8. Books available.
